The Division of Genetics at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, invites applications for an Online interview for a DST-SERB-funded project. Position Overview

  • Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in DST Funded project

  • Number of Posts: 01

  • Emoluments (Fixed per month):

    • JRF @ Rs. 31,000/- + 24% HRA per month for 1st and 2nd year

    • SRF @ Rs. 35,000/- + 24% HRA per month for 3rd year

Essential Qualifications

  • Essential: Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences/Agricultural Sciences or professional courses selected through a process described by norms given in DST Office Memorandum (O.M) No. SR/S9/Z-08/2018. This includes:

    • Scholars selected through the National Eligibility Test CSIR-UGC-NET, including lectureship (Assistant professorship) and GATE

    • Selection process through a national-level exam conducted by Central government departments and their agencies and institutes such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.

    • For JRF: Two years of research experience in addition to the prescribed qualification

  • Desirable: Experience in maize breeding activities, knowledge of Breeding Management Systems, Genomic prediction models, molecular research, computer, and analytics

  • Age Limit: Maximum age of 35 years for JRF (with age relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women and three years for OBC)

Application Process:

Interested and eligible candidates are requested to send their applications in the enclosed proforma along with self-attested scanned copies of the original documents through email by 22-05-2024. After screening the applications, eligible candidates will be notified by email for the online interview scheduled for 27-05-2024 from 10 A.M onwards. Original documents will be verified at the time of appointment, and candidates found to have submitted false claims will be disqualified.

The position is purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis initially until 31-03-2025, with the possibility of extension subject to performance until the project's termination.
