Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Position at ICAR-IARI Regional Research Centre Dharwad

The ICAR-IARI Regional Research Centre, Dharwad, has announced an opening for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a DST SERB-funded project. This opportunity is purely contractual and time-bound, associated with the project titled “Investigation on Virulence Pattern of Phakopsora pachyrhizi and Identification of Genomic Regions Associated with Resistance to Soybean Rust” (Project Code: 28-38, FMS No. 1015398).

Vacancy Details

  • Position Available: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

  • Number of Positions: One

  • Emoluments: Rs. 37,000 + 16% HRA per month

  • Application Deadline: 16th August 2024, 5:30 PM

Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential Qualifications:

    • Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or

    • Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (Master’s degree in Plant Pathology/Genetics and Plant Breeding).

    • Candidates should be selected through any one of the following:

      1. National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship or GATE).

      2. National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and Agencies like DST, DBT, DAE, DRDO, ICAR, etc.

  • Desirable Qualifications:

    • Basic understanding of plant pathology, including experience in disease survey, collection, isolation, inoculation of fungal spores, disease scoring, and handling disease screening in field crops.

  • Age Limit:

    • Maximum age of 35 years for JRF (relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women, three years for OBC). Minimum age should be 18 years as of the date of the interview.

Contract and Interview Details

  • The position is purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis for one year or until the termination of the project, whichever is earlier.

  • Shortlisted candidates will receive details of the online interview via email. The interview will take place at ICAR-IARI’s Regional Research Centre, Dharwad.

Documentation and Verification

  • At the time of the interview, candidates must present recent bio-data, original copies of relevant documents, and a copy of their M.Sc/M.Tech Thesis.

  • Candidates must also carry a recent photograph and proof of experience and publications.
