The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) has invited online applications for the position of Constables/Lady Constables in the Kolkata Police Department. From May 29, eligible and interested candidates can apply for the vacancies on the official website wbpolice.gov.in. The application must be completed by June 27, 2022.
The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 1666 vacancies, 1410 of which are for Constables and 256 for Lady Constables.
Age Limit Details
The applicant must be between the age group of 18 and 27 on January 1, 2022. According to current Government rules, the upper age limit is relaxed for candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC categories.
Educational Qualification Required
The applicant must have passed the Madhyamik Examination or its equivalent from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.
The applicant must be able to speak, read, and write Bengali; however, this provision does not apply to people who are permanent residents of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts' hill sub-divisions. The provisions of the West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961 (West Ben. Act XXIV of 1961) shall apply to applicants from the Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts.
Application Fee Details
All candidates, except SC/ST (West Bengal only), must pay a fee of Rs 170. The processing fee for SC/ST candidates is Rs 20.

Selection procedure
The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board will fill the posts of Constable/Lady Constable in Kolkata by qualifying the Preliminary Written Test, which will serve as a screening examination, followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Written Examination, and Interview.
