What is Unique Health ID?
If a person wants to take benefit of Ayushmaan Bharat- Digital Initiatve, they need to register and create a health ID, which is a 14 digit number. This ID will be used for 3 purposes: Unique identification, authentication, & threading of the beneficiary's health records, only with their informed consent across multiple systems and stakeholders.
The health ID is created by using a person’s basic details and mobile number or Aadhaar number. Their health records are then linked to it and can be viewed via a mobile application.
This Health ID will contain details of the test, disease, diagnosis and medicine taken by the holder. It will record the doctors visited, and the information will be easy to carry and remember.
Benefits of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Health ID
This health ID is Free of cost & voluntary. Citizens will be just a click away from accessing healthcare facilities and healthcare service providers. The health ID will standardize the process of Identification of an individual across healthcare providers, serving as an “electronic medical record”. It will allow access and exchange of health records of the individual holder with their consent.
You can access your health records right from admission through treatment and discharge. Second, you can access and link your personal health records with your health ID to create a longitudinal health
How to register for Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Health ID?
One can get a health ID by self-registration on the portal or by downloading the ABMD Health Records app on Mobile. Additionally, one can also request the creation of a health ID at a participating health facility, which may include Ayushman Bharat empanelled government or private hospitals, community health centers and wellness centers of the government across India.
The beneficiary will have to set up a personal Health Records (PHR) address for consent management, and for future sharing of health records. It is a simple self-declared username, which the beneficiary is required to sign into a health Information Exchange & Consent Manager. Each ID will require linkage to a consent manager to enable sharing of health records data.
