The esteemed Millionaire Farmers of India Awards 2023, Session II began and set the stage for an engaging discussion on the pivotal topic of "The Role of Industry Associations in Accelerating Farmers' Income."

Distinguished personalities graced the occasion as Chief Guests, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between industry and agriculture.

Dr RK Trivedi, Executive Director, NSAI shed light on how farmers are conscious and contributing towards the Indian economy and growth and explained the importance of seeds in agriculture and how seeds alone contribute towards 20 per cent of the farmer’s income and production of the crop.

Manoj Menon, Executive Director, ICCOA focused on the role of organic farming and its impact on both the environment and farmers' incomes, stressing the importance of adopting eco-friendly practices and how farmers are exposed to certified organics by providing certification.

Ajay Rana - Chairman, Federation of Seed Industry of India discussed the challenges and opportunities in the seed industry, highlighting the need for regulatory support and research to ensure a robust seed ecosystem as the business of seeds in India is 25 thousand crores.

Satish Tiwari, VP- Marketing and Sales, Gencrest focused on how industrial associations are helping farmers to grow and talked about the unique business model his firm is working on which empowers farmers, ensuring them they receive fair value for their produce in the market.

The session delved into various aspects, including technology adoption, sustainable practices, seed quality, and market access. Panellists emphasized the need for collaborative efforts between industry associations and farmers to create a sustainable and profitable agricultural ecosystem.

As the session concluded, there was a shared optimism among the attendees regarding the future of Indian agriculture. The collaboration between industry associations and farmers was underscored as a critical factor in achieving the goal of increasing farmers' income and fostering agricultural prosperity.
