Weather Update (October 12): IMD Predicts Rain in Goa, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu; Delhi to Stay Dry

The India Meteorological Department has issued weather alerts for various regions across the country. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in isolated places over Konkan & Goa, along with heavy rainfall at isolated locations in Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Chhattisgarh, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.    

Conditions are favorable for the further withdrawal of the monsoon from parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, and Sikkim over the next two days.

Northeast & East India

• Andaman & Nicobar Islands: Fairly widespread rainfall likely over the next 7 days.

• Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya: Heavy rainfall likely on October 11 and 12.

• Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura: Scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected throughout the week.

West India

Northwest & Central India

No significant rainfall is predicted for Northwest and Central India during this week.

The weather over the coming days will bring varying conditions across different parts of India. Coastal regions like Konkan & Goa, as well as parts of South Peninsular India, are expected to experience heavy rainfall, while the Southwest Monsoon continues its withdrawal from central and northern parts of the country.
