Weather Warning! Heavy Snowfall and Rainfall Expected over J&K, Himachal; IMD advises locals to stay indoors
Jammu and Kashmir is expected to receive heavy snowfall in the next few days, as per the local weather office. Authorities have issued warnings for people living in higher reaches to avoid movement during this period as landslides can occur at such places.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has anticipated substantial downpour of snow and rain in Jammu & Kashmir as well as Ladakh region and has given warning regarding any air or surface traffic including all interstate highways linking Kashmir with the nation. The traffic interruption is probably going to hit the Srinagar-Jammu, Srinagar-Leh parkways and the Mughal Road that associates the valley with the Jammu division.

Mukhtar Ahmed, Deputy Director of Srinagar Meteorological Department says, "Serious downpour along with snow is predicted in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh areas. Normal downpour and snowfall will start at certain spots in Kashmir on the thirteenth evening and from that point there will be a gradual increase in the snowfall and rain during the following days of November 14th and 15th and then the force will progressively diminish after Sunday evening.
IMD has issued forecast and according to that substantial snowfall and downpour is expected in the upper regions of the Kashmir Valley, which include Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Baramulla, Qazigund, Bandipora (Gurez and Tulail Valley) and Kupwara (Karnal Sector). Similarly, for Jammu, Shopian, Qazigund-Banihal, and PirPanjal will get affected. Apart from J&K, a few areas from Ladakh, which include DrassGumri and Meenmarg and Zanska will also get influenced.
Landslides may likewise happen in delicate territories of Jammu to Srinagar and Srinagar to Leh National Highway. This will likewise influence apple and rural tasks as air and road transport will likewise get influenced.
