World Penguin Day

WORLD PENGUIN DAY Observed the world over on April 25th, World Penguin Day recognizes one of the unique birds on the planet. There are 17 species of penguins, and all their natural habitats are in the Southern hemisphere. The largest living species is the Emperor Penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri): on average adults are about 1.1 m (3 ft 7 in) tall and weigh 35 kg (75 lb) or more.
