PM Narendra Modi declared January 16th as ‘National Startup Day’ earlier today. PM Modi emphasized startups, calling them the “Backbone of New India.”
This coincides with the Centre's new approach to the startup ecosystem. According to the government, 49 regulatory reforms have been implemented in the last five years to improve the ease of doing business and raising capital.
The National Startup Awards appear to be a good way to recognize startups and inform the public about their contributions to the Indian economy. The initiative is commendable, and it is hoped that it will inspire a new generation of social entrepreneurs.
