Andhra Pradesh Budget: Allocation of Rs 11,891.20 Crore for Agriculture Sector & Rs 1,279 for the Animal Husbandry is Done

Andhra Pradesh state government has allocated Rs 11,891.20 crore for the agriculture sector, for financial year 2020-21, and Rs 1,279 for the animal husbandry sector. While the allocations for financial year 2019-20 is Rs 20,677 crore. The growth of allocation has decreased by 34.14 per cent this year as compared to 2019-20. For animal husbandry, dairy development and fisheries the growth stands at negative 33.08 per cent.

Andhra Pradesh state government has allocated Rs 11,891.20 crore for the agriculture sector, for financial year 2020-21, and Rs 1,279 for the animal husbandry sector. While the allocations for financial year 2019-20 is Rs 20,677 crore. The growth of allocation has decreased by 34.14 per cent this year as compared to 2019-20. For animal husbandry, dairy development and fisheries the growth stands at negative 33.08 percent.

However, while presenting the budget on Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said the government has initiated new schemes for assistance programs for the well being of farmers.

Andhra Pradesh is an agriculture driven state. State's economy depended on agriculture for its growth. This sector employees 75 per cent of the state's work force directly. YSR Rytu Bharosa has been allocated Rs 3615 crore and Rs 3000 crore to price stabilisation fund.

For YSR interest free loans, the allocation made is Rs 1000 crore. Rythu Bharosa Kendralu (RBKs) and Agriculture Market will receive 100 crores under the Budget. YSR PM-Fasal Bima Yojana is allocated Rs 500 crore and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana will get Rs 237 crore.

An amount of Rs 200 crore is allocated for supply of seeds to farmers. The state government earmarked Rs 150 crore for the National Horticulture Mission and Rs 65 crore for YSR Agri Testing Labs, and Rs 20 crore was allocated for payment of ex gratia to farmers. Allocations for other schemes would be Rs 2,802 crore.

The government extended its financial assistance to nearly 46 lakh farmer families and around 1.5 lakh tenant farmer families during 2019-20. The government will be continuing the income support to the farmers for the year 2020-21.
