Bharat Bandh Updates: Farmers’ Nationwide strike today; Road, Rail transport to be affected

The farmers association from all over the nation have announced a nationwide strike along with the support of the opposition parties like AAP, TMC, Congress etc. The strike is supposed to affect the transport sector of the nation too. Majorly the strike would be seen in the states of Punjab and Haryana as these were marked as the center of the protest.

India to observe a nationwide strike by the various farmer’s and farmers’ association supported by 18 different political parties like AAP, TMC,NCP with Congress being one of the major supporters. The strike is to be held today against the farm bills which were passed by the Rajya Sabha on 20th September, 2020 Friday within all the protest going on inside the parliament.

The main centres of this protest are Punjab and Haryana. The Shiromani Akali Dal would note a 3 hours long transport strike also known as the wheel strike all around the districts. The CM of Punjab has requested the farmers to follow the Covid-19 protocol and have also declared that during the protest there would be no police cases on the breaking of Section 144.

Similarly Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra’s farmers have also declared a state close.

The entire nation strike has been announced by several of the organisations like All India Farmers Union, All India Kisan Mahasangh and two more major farmers association, along with many RSS associated organizations like Swadeshi Jagran Manch and Bhartiya Kisan Sangh. Trade unions like All India Trade Union Congress, All India United Trade Union, Hind Mazdoor Sabha and 7 more such trade unions have also joined the protest.

The transport sector all over the state of Punjab would notice a 3 hours of complete hold. The trains like the Golden temple Mail, Shaheed Express including 12 more special passenger trains has been kept on hold till 26th of September starting from 24th of September, 2020. The strike has also made the Delhi- Haryana border to be closed due to the fear of the protestors of moving towards the National Capital for the protest.
