‘Subarna Krishi Mela 2022’ promises to bring forth innovative developments from the technological and mechanical sectors with the purpose to elevate the farming community of Odisha state.

Two Day conference on Agriculture, Subarna Krishi Mela,  has begun at Suliapada, Mayurbhanj in Odisha, organized by Krishi Jagran and powered by Agriculture Journalist Association of India. The conferences and seminars are aimed at disseminating knowledge amongst farmers, even in the remotest part of the state.

The seminars in the event are focused on agricultural development wherein hundreds of farmers will benefit from the knowledge of industry experts and are also exposed to the newest technologies that would streamline their agricultural practices better. The machinery and other technological products displayed in the expo are to identify and address various agricultural issues that the farmers face on a daily basis.

Odisha being one of the states that has a huge number of people engaged in agriculture and is on the way to major agricultural development. With the theme ‘Explore the Unexplored’ kept in the heart, Krishi Jagran is on the path to promote agricultural development in areas that are not easily accessible making it easy for farmers to participate. The primary goal of organizing conferences and seminars is to build a platform for grassroot farmers and spread awareness about modern farming technologies among the community and to foster traditional, culture-heritage and agri-tourism in the state.

People flock to ‘Subarna Krishi Mela 2022’ to witness a conglomeration of farmers from the remotest parts of Odisha

The event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with MLA Raj Kishore Das as he conveyed that he was elated to be a part of Subarna Krishi Mela, after which Editor-in-Chief, Krishi Jagran, MC Dominic conveyed his gratitude to the audience present there. He stated: “This is the first time Krishi Jagran moved from North India and organized a Krishi Event. We are elated that 3-4 Kisans have already participated in the mela. This is our third programme in Odisha as we plan to do four events by the end of this year. We have witnessed that people are flocking the events and there are 25% more people in each of the events organized. We believe that next year we would be able to organize ten such events here and in another three years we hope to do events in all 30 districts of Odisha. Likewise, we would help the technology, knowledge and machinery to reach the farmers without having to travel far away, we will bring it all close to their homes. This is our purpose and we are glad that we have support from farmers and local authorities in the venture, especially the Sanmukh Agri-tech Team, I thank everyone.”

The farmers have gathered at the mela-ground and are welcomed with cultural performances from locals. They have been greeted by the on ground staff of Krishi Jagran, as the team celebrates Kisan Diwas with a huge crowd of locals, men, women and children from all over the state.
