Chhattisgarh Government Launches New Scheme for Distribution of Fortified Rice
On 1st November, Sunday Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel of Chattisgarh announced the launching of the new scheme for the fortified rice distribution through the Public Distribution System (PDS) and various other welfare initiatives for the Kondagaon districts people of the State on a pilot basis.

According to the statement released during the virtual launching of the scheme the CM stated that the scheme would help in keeping in controlling the problem of malnutrition and anemia in the region.
CM Baghel said that the fortified rice contains various essential minerals like iron, Vitamin-B12 and folic acid all mixed up in a proper ratio. The fortified rice kernel will meet the requirement of the essential nutrients in the diet and would hence help in controlling malnutrition and anemia.
Under the scheme, 2 rice mills have been given the task of rice mixing for fortification. It has been decided that the fortified rice would be distributed through fair price shops.
Chhattisgarh statehood function which was held to celebrate the existence of Chhattisgarh after being separated by Madhya Pradesh on November 1, 2000, was held at CM Baghel’s residence in 2 phases.
During the 1st phase Rahul Gandhi former AICC chief also attended the function virtually whereas in the 2nd phase of the celebration Anusuiya Uikey, State Governor graced as the Chief Guest through video conferencing. It was in the 2nd phase of the celebration where the CM awarded 3 organisations and 30 individuals with “ Rajya Alankaran Samman” in the presence of the Honorable Governor for their contribution to the 24 different disciples.
After the felicitation, CM launched the scheme of distribution of fortified rice and also dedicated 5 new tourist resorts as a part of Tribal Tourism Circuit in the various districts of the state virtually.
Apart from this, the CM had also performed e-Bhoomi Pujan for the Rajim and Shivrinarayan development and beautification works which was initiated under the Ram Van Gaman Path tourism circuit Project.
Not only this the CM this time had also dedicated substations of power supplies of around 132/33KV in Bijapur district and an electricity line of 87.5 km long Barspur-Bijapur on the same occasion so that the project would ensure the supply of electricity to 23 remote villages in the naxal affected districts of the state.
