"Following the success of the cow dung procurement scheme, the government has decided to purchase cow urine." The purchased urine will be used to make pest control products as well as 'Jeevamrut' (liquid organic fertilizer)," according to the official.
The scheme aims to reduce the use of expensive chemical pesticides while also promoting organic farming in the state by making organic pesticides available to farmers at low cost.
"In the last two years, the state government has purchased over Rs 150 crore in cow dung, and self-help groups (SHGs) have produced over 20 lakh quintals of vermicompost, super compost, and super plus compost from it," he added.
