Experts are going to discuss the important issues and main trends in the Russian dairy industry at the 5th International Agro-Industrial Dairy Forum which will be held on November 27 to 28, 2018, at the House of Moscow Region Government,  This year, the public interest in the agricultural sector has exceeded all the expectations while foreign trade publications call Russian agribusiness industry the second most important one in the country's economy after oil and gas.

According to official data of the leading Russian experts such as the National Assembly "Soyuzmoloko", this year the situation in the Russian dairy industry is going to be stabilized. It is also worth paying attention to the forecasts of experts IFCN (International Farm Comparison Network) who claim that in the following 12 years, by 2030, milk consumption per capita will increase by 16%, and world milk production will grow by 304 million tons. Such forecasts show great promises for the industry in the next few years both in the world and in Russia. It should also be pointed out that today, the world production of milk is 876 mln tons including more than 21 million tons of Russian commercial milk.

The optimistic conclusions of experts, as well as the overall potential of the dairy market, promote the growth and liquidity of the dairy industry. However, there are a number of issues related to the industry needed to be resolved in the near future.

On the first day of the Forum, experts, government officials and industry leaders are going to discuss a number of topical issues related to the formation of new rules in the dairy industry. First of all, it is important to understand whether the rate of excessive processing of milk can become the basis for the development in the industry, and why the Russian food industry prefers the imported raw materials. Second, it is important to know what makes the price of dry dairy products, whey and other raw materials in the exporting countries and in Russia. Finally, it is necessary to determine the criteria of the Russian dairy industry competitiveness in the world market.

Commenting on the theme of the plenary session of the Dairy Forum, Andrey Razin, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region,  noted: "The Moscow region supplies itself with milk only by 40% that shows that the region has much to grow. The dairy industry remains a priority for governmental support and investing. Next year, new livestock complexes are going to be put into operation, despite the fact that the Moscow region already occupies a leading position in the country in the breeding economy. This year, the Moscow Region is very active in developing exports of ice cream, drinking milk, cheese and working on measures to stimulate demand for products of deep processing of local production. The Dairy Forum will allow to consider the important moments of the industry development and to determine the further right direction".

Denis Butsaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow Region, commented on the importance of the 5th international Agro-Industrial Dairy Forum: "The Dairy Forum is an effective way to get answers to a number of important issues of the proper functioning of the industry. This year, nine investment agreements were signed for the development of the Moscow Region agribusiness industry. At the Dairy Forum on November 27, it is also planned to conclude up to 13 investment agreements aimed at the development of the dairy industry in the region. Among the priority measures of state support in the Moscow region are preferential loans for the development of dairy cattle breeding and farm construction, subsidies for increasing productivity in dairy cattle breeding, subsidies for improving housing conditions for young professionals and others, which will be described in more detail in the business program of the Forum."
