Dr. G.R. Chintala Launches AGRI UDAAN 4.0

Chairman of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Dr. G.R. Chintala virtually launched India's most sought-after Food and Agriculture Accelerator Programme known as “AGRI UDAAN 4.0”.

Chairman of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Dr. G.R. Chintala virtually launched India's most sought-after Food and Agriculture Accelerator Programme known as “AGRI UDAAN 4.0”.

In his address the NABARD Chief stressed on the need for fostering Start-Ups that can change the agriculture scenario in India. Dr. Chintala advised the Start-Ups to be more inclusive to the farmers and understand the rural ecosystem while working for the solutions. The promotion of Start-Up ecosystem in the North Eastern States was also emphasized by the NABARD Chairman.

He also released the 2 Publications entitled “Agribusiness Management Education at ICAR-NAARM” and “Fostering Agri Based Entrepreneurship in India” during the occasion

It is important to mention that to help farmers and fishermen, NABARD provides subsidies, loans for fish farming

I.A.S., Principal Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Telangana, Jayesh Ranjan emphasized on having more collaborations with the activities being taken in the State.

Advisor & Head, NSTEDB, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, Dr. Anita Gupta highlighted about various programmes & priorities in technology innovations under the DST.

Vice-Chancellor of, University of Hyderabad, Prof. P. Appa Rao underlined the bio-technology innovations in agricultural growth & development.

Mission Director, NITI Aayog, Shri R. Ramanan talked about the important role of technology innovations in agriculture and farmer’s development.

Highlighting the journey of AGRI UDAAN 4.0, Director of ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad and President, a-IDEA NAARM, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao briefed about the entrepreneurship activities of a-IDEA.

Dr. K. Srinivas, ADG (IPTM), ICAR outlined the objectives as well as activities planned under AGRI UDAAN 4.0 which spans from May to November, 2021.

The programme will be followed by 5 Web Shows scheduled every week on Fridays, on various themes starting from 21 May, to look for potential Start-Ups which are struggling to scale-up and need support from a-IDEA.

The event that was organized by a-IDEA, a Technology Business Incubator of ICAR-NAARM focusing entirely on Agri Start-Ups registered a total participation of 700 participants.
