Egyptian Scientist Visits Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University
The aim of this workshop was to enable productive international cooperation and exposure of our students for academic improvement and enhanced skill development.
College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana conducted one day workshop under the World Bank funded Institutional Development Plan project. Professor Dr. Saber Mohamed Abd-Allah, Professor and Head, Theriogenology department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Beni-Suef University, Egypt visited the Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
Dr. saber is a well-known expert in the field of superovulation, ovum pickup, in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer technology in Egyptian buffaloes.
The aim of this workshop was to enable productive international cooperation and exposure of our students for academic improvement and enhanced skill development. The Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman also attended the workshop along with the faculty of the Gynaecology department, and postgraduate and internship students.
This workshop included the visit of Professor Saber to Multispecialty Veterinary Hospital, Large animal clinics, Dairy Fram, Semen lab and Embry Transfer lab of the university. He delivered a lecture on “Reproductive Biotechnologies in Buffalo Reproduction” to internship students, and postgraduates and had an interactive session with the faculty of the department.
The workshop paved a way for the interaction of university faculty and postgraduate students and any future collaboration between the two universities in the field of animal reproduction.
The interaction with these distinct Professors would be of immense help to our students in enabling them to get acquainted with the global contents and curriculum of Veterinary Science.
The International Visiting Professor teaching program would uplift the standards of teaching and help students to hone their skills in order to match with global standards.

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) was established at Ludhiana by an act of the Punjab Legislature No. 16 of 2005 notified in the Punjab Government Gazette on August 9, 2005, and it started functioning w.e.f. April 21, 2006, for promoting livestock production, health and prevention of the disease(s) through integrated teaching, research and extension programme(s).
