From April 25 to May 1, 2022, Government of India will hold a 'Fasal Bima Pathshala' as part of the 'Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Campaign' as a Jan Bhagidari movement under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. On April 27, 2022, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar will host a national special programme on 'Fasal Bima Pathshala.'

Through specially organized 'Fasal Bima Pathshala' coordinated by CSC from 1 lakh locations across the country, he will connect with farmers in all Implementing States across the country.

All Implementing Insurance Companies are required to hold a 'PMFBY- Fasal Bima Pathshala' at their Block/GP/village on all 7 days of the campaign period, with at least 100 farmers participating.

In the ongoing Kharif Season 2022, the Campaign aims to raise awareness among farmers about key aspects of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), such as basic scheme provisions, the importance of crop insurance, and how to access scheme benefits, among other things.

The overall focus of this campaign will be on the importance of PMFBY/RWBCIS (Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme) and how farmers can enroll in the scheme and benefit from it. For maximum benefit of the scheme, detailed information on crop loss intimations during localized calamities and post-harvest losses, tracking of farmers' applications, and whom farmers can approach for grievance redressal, among other things, may be shared and explained in detail to farmers.

On this occasion, contact information for district and block level officials, as well as offices of implementing Insurance Companies, will be provided in detail, including toll-free numbers, email addresses, and any other mechanism developed by ICs such as chatbots, separate apps, and so on.

Following the national programme, state agriculture ministers will interact with farmers from their respective states in a state-specific programme. At the state level, a one-hour Fasal Bima Pathshala will be held in collaboration with the CSC and implementing Insurance Companies.

Farmers, Panchayat Raj Representatives (PRIs), members, and State Government field functionaries working at the GP level (from various departments such as Agriculture, Revenue, and Panchayat Raj, among others) will be invited to the state-specific programme.

As special invitees/guests, prominent local figures, progressive farmers, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVKs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs), Village Level Organizations (VOs), and others will be invited. Basic scheme features and FAQs will be included in the dissemination kit that will be distributed to participating farmers.
