Good News! 100 Farmers’ Producers Company to Start for Increasing Agricultural Production

Assam has decided to come up with 100 Farmers’ Producers Company in the state for ramping up agricultural production. Sarbananda instructed the Director of Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project to set up 100 Farmers’ producers company to ramp up the agricultural production, collection and ensuring linkage with the national and international markets.

 Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal checked on the working of agriculture department city and guided the Assam Seeds Corporation Limited to deliver the seeds required by the state's farmers in the state itself.

 So as to guarantee the supply of certified seeds to farmers, the Chief Minister ordered for setting up in any event one seed dissemination focus in each district of the state. He requested the department to come up with a detailed action plan for capturing the market of the whole northeast region along with local markets.

 Youths must be attracted towards farming to achieve Prime Minister set target “Atma Nirbhar Assam’ and adopt the latest scientific innovations in the agricultural practice he added.

Guiding the department to motivate the progressive farmers showing exemplary performance in horticulture production, Sonowal said to the agriculture department to tie up with Assam Start-up Incubation Centre in order to provide better market linkage to the farmers to sell their products.

 Sonowal added the sector has immense potential to revive post-COVID-19 to strengthen the economy and also suggested this sector will grow rapidly.
