Good News: Farmers Will Get Bonus of Rs 125 per quintal on Crop Sale during Coronavirus Lockdown

The Central as well as State governments are doing its best to help farmers during lockdown situation in the country. To provide some relief to the cultivators, the Haryana state government announced few measures. During the lockdown, farmers will be able to go to their fields for harvesting. The government order also mentioned that agricultural machines and equipment like combine harvesters etc that is used by farmers for harvesting will not be stopped on the roads.

To provide some relief to the cultivators, the Haryana state government announced few measures. During the lockdown, farmers will be able to go to their fields for harvesting. The government order also mentioned that agricultural machines and equipment like combine harvesters etc that is used by farmers for harvesting will not be stopped on the roads.

State Agriculture Minister JP Dalal said that some instructions have been issued by the Haryana government regarding farmers. It has been told that farmers will not have any problem due to lockdown in the country. Like every year, this year too wheat and mustard crops of farmers will be purchased at MSP at the right time. There will be no problem in operating the mandis and selling the crops of farmer.

Not only this, the Haryana government has decided to give bonus to farmers due to delay in procurement of rabi crops due to coronavirus pandemic. This means from May 6 to May 31, a bonus will be given at the rate of Rs 50 per quintal and Rs 125 per quintal from June 1 to June 30. But a condition has been kept for the farmers if the procurement is completed before May 5 then the bonus will not be given.

Additional Chief Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department Haryana, P.K Das ordered the director of the department to ensure this arrangement. He said that due to the coronavirus, things may be delayed even further therefore bonus would be provided along with MSP on purchase of wheat crop. From April 20 to May 5, wheat will be purchased at the rate of Rs 1925 per quintal; from 6 May to 31 May at Rs. 1975 per quintal and Rs. 2050 from 1 June to 30 June.
