To meet the shortage of electricity and to promote renewable energy, the government has been working to make solar energy accessible to the common people. In order to become self-reliant or Atmanirbhar, many schemes are being run at the state as well as Central level.

To lessen the water problems in farms and promote irrigation across every field, the government has focused on solar pump yojana and distribution of solar panel to the farmers. 

Some people are unable to take advantage of this due to the high cost involved in installing solar energy panels. In view of this problem, the Haryana government is giving a sizeable subsidy to install solar power panels. 

Under these schemes, people are given subsidy to install solar panels at home. The money which is received as subsidy don't need to return later. At the same time, the electricity from the solar panel is completely free. This also reduces the electricity bill of the house. Haryana Government's Scheme 

Haryana Government is running a scheme to promote solar panel. The scheme is named Manohar Jyoti Yojana. Under this solar panel scheme, the Haryana government provides subsidy to install solar power panels. The state government aims to get every house a solar panel. 

What is Manohar Jyoti Yojana? 

Under the Manohar Jyoti Yojana of Haryana Government, subsidy is being given to people for installation of solar panels. Under this scheme, 150 watt solar panels are installed in rural areas. In addition, a lithium battery is also provided. At the same time, in addition to two 6-6 watt LED bulbs, 9 watt LED tubelight and 25 watt ceiling fan, 1 mobile charging point are also provided. 

Government Subsidy for solar panels

It costs about 22,500 rupees to install a 150 watt solar panel at home. The state government gives a subsidy of Rs 15,000. In this way, people get the benefit of this scheme by depositing Rs 7,500.

To take advantage of this government scheme, people must have a residence certificate of Haryana state. Apart from this, it is also necessary to have an Aadhaar card, bank account.
