Government Offering 50 Percent Subsidy on Pulse Seeds

He said that farmers should use gypsum in their fields to get a better yield. In in a speech at the state level Kharif Productivity Seminar through video conferencing, Agriculture Minister Surya passed the information.

The minister said that having received a good rainfall, farmers should now sow ‘dhaincha’ by deep plowing their fields. When the drench crop is 40 days, then turn it over in the fields. This will increase the fertility of the land. Commenting on crop insurance scheme, he said that now it has been made voluntary instead of mandatory.
In this seminar, the minister also informed that the government has decided that farmers who do not want to become part of the Prime Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme, will have to inform the concerned bank branch seven days before July 31 through an application. Apart from Agriculture Minister, Principal Secretary Agriculture Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi said that adequate arrangements for seeds, fertilizers and pesticide chemicals have been made in the state.
Devesh Chaturvedi said that as per farmers’ demand, paddy seed is being made available in all the districts of the state. Information was also given about the allocation and production of new paddy species in Mirzapur. He said that 50 percent subsidy is being given by the Agriculture Department on all certified seeds and will be continued continuously. The benefit of this subsidy will be sent directly to the bank accounts of the farmers under direct benefit transfer.
