Gujarat CM Introduces IFFCO Nano Urea Spraying Scheme

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday used drone technology to launch the Indian Farmers' Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) Nano Urea Spraying Scheme statewide from Isanpur Mota village in Gandhinagar district. The scheme is a 100 percent state-funded scheme to promote the use of drones in agriculture, with the goal of lowering agricultural costs and increasing farmer income.

"The use of drones in spraying Nano urea will significantly reduce agricultural costs, increasing farmers' income." "A provision of 35 crore rupees has been made for the scheme in the current fiscal year," the Chief Minister said at the scheme's launch.

He congratulated the farmers on using drones to spray nano urea for the first time in the state and encouraged them to take advantage of the advanced drone technology scheme in agriculture, which saves them time and energy.

"Through the use of drone technology, spraying of urea with 25 litres of water in one hectare of land can be completed in 20 minutes," the Chief Minister added.

"While efforts are being made to reduce costs and increase productivity, we have taken an important step in that direction in Gujarat through the use of modern technology," he added.

India, the world's largest buyer of urea and di-ammonium phosphate, aims to be self-sufficient by 2025 and expects to save Rs 40,000 crores using IFFCO's domestically produced Nano-urea. IG Drones collaborated with IFFCO to begin a field trial of Nano urea Liquid spraying with drones.

Nano urea is a revolution in the agricultural industry because it has the potential to save storage space and money while increasing crop yield. After the high-yielding seed technology of the 1970s, which brought about the green revolution in India, nano urea is regarded as the greatest agricultural innovation.

Aside from increasing crop yields, nano urea will help the government reduce its subsidy burden by reducing the use of highly subsidized traditional urea.

On May 28, this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the world's first nano urea liquid plant in Kalol, Gujarat. The only Nano fertilizer authorized by the Government of India and covered by the Fertilizer Control Order is IFFCO, Nano Urea (FCO). It is created and patented by IFFCO.
