Historic Reforms passed by the Government for Benefit of Farmers
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said reform bill introduced in the parliament are historic. And assured that the government will purchase the farmers’ produce at MSPs. He lashed out at parties opposing the bills, and also urged farmers to be careful from any misleading by middleman.

During the inauguration of Bihar related rail projects in the presence of state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other Union Ministers, Prime Minister said, “Middleman used to misinform the farmers and capture the major part of their profits. This new is vitally important to save the interests of farmers. The bill will prove to be a protective cover for the farmers.”
Prime Minister gave one more statement that farmers should be careful about any misinformation campaign by some parties. Worriless from protests by opposition and NDA partner Akali Dal, the Prime Minister declared that the bills are in the interests of farmers and will benefit them.
Opposition by other Parties
Congress party, which is opposing three bills passed by the Lok Sabha, referring to that, prime minister said, “there are parties who became the government of the country for decades, and made electoral promises, these reforms were the part of their policy statements, but when the National Democratic Alliance has done it, they are opposing, and now they are also trying to misguide farmers.
Prime Minister Modi said, “the new MSP rule was brought by the BJP-led NDA. Opposition parties are spreading fake news about the withdrawn of MSP rule by the government. I assure to the farmers that MSP will be continued same way in the future like today. Government will continue to purchase farmers’ produces.”
He also told the farmers that they should remain careful from the parties who want them to stay connected to the middle man, who are actually snatching the profits of farmers.
Prime Minister also encouraged farmers to sell their produce in any part of the world, he said that new bill encourages farmers to sell their produce in the market of their choice.
Three Agriculture Sector Bills Passed
Three Agriculture sector bills are passed by the Lok Sabha, even in the situation of strong protests by the opposition parties. Two farm bills, one on agri market reforms, and other on contract farming provisions, were passed on Thursday and the one on amending Essential Commodities Act was passed on Tuesday. These three bills will replace existing rules one passed by the Rajya Sabha.
Shiromani Akali Dal MP, Harsimrat Kaur Badal resigned from the Union Council of Ministers, registering her protect against legislation. President Ramnath Kovind has accepted her resignation.
