ICAR Signs MoU with ICFA to Strengthen Agri Research, Innovations & Farmers’ Outreach for Sustainable Agricultural Development

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) on the occasion of signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture, New Delhi said, “Our endeavour should be achieving the resilient agri-food systems to accomplish the goal of adequate and nutritious food for all”.

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) on the occasion of signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture, New Delhi said, “Our endeavour should be achieving the resilient agri-food systems to accomplish the goal of adequate and nutritious food for all”.

He added “The collaboration will help to strengthen the agricultural research, innovations and farmers’ outreach for sustainable agricultural development”.

Dr. Mohapatra and Dr. M.J. Khan, Chairman of ICFA inked the MoU on the behalf of their respective organizations.

In his address, Dr. Mohapatra highlighted the unparalleled contributions of the stakeholders that have led the country to succeed in the agricultural sector. He urged for making efforts to scale out the technologies to the farmers and develop new linkages via ICFA with the industry for demand driven research. He also stressed for convergence between and amongst the similar activities of ICFA & ICAR to fortify the impacts of the technologies.

Dr. Mohapatra appreciated ICFA’s efforts for promoting the technologies, capacity development & trade facilitation. He also stressed on developing a detailed work plan wherein all the activities with their timeline could be detailed out for the efficient implementation of the agreement.

ICFA Chairman highlighted the ICFA’s various activities and scope of developing the collaboration between the two organizations.

Sanjay Garg, Additional Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR); Deputy Directors General, ICAR; Assistant Directors General, ICAR and Dr. J.P. Mishra, ADG (International Relations) & OSD (PPP), ICAR along with Pravin Shrivastava, Director General, ICFA and the other Senior Officers of ICFA were also present during the occasion.
