ICAR Signs MoU with MANAGE for Cooperation in Agriculture Research and Education

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Agriculture Extension Management (MANAGE), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad at Krishi Bhawan, Delhi.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Agriculture Extension Management (MANAGE), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad at Krishi Bhawan, Delhi.

The MoU is meant for cooperation in various areas of Agricultural Research and Education.

Dr.  Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & DG (ICAR) and Dr. V. Usha Rani, Director General, MANAGE signed the MoU.
With the MoU, the ICAR and MANAGE have agreed for collaborative programs in the fields of research, education, training & capacity building, extension consultancy and other areas of agriculture sciences of national interest. ICAR and MANAGE have also agreed for mutually recognizing faculty of both the Institutes for research and teaching purposes, wherein, the students and faculties can carry out the specific, research and outreach activities at the laboratories of these institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mohapatra and Dr. Usha Rani expressed confidence that the MoU will help both the organizations to address the challenging task of doubling the farmers’ income by the Year - 2022.

The MOU shall initially be valid for a period of five years. Dr. A.K. Singh, Deputy Director General (Extension) was identified as the nodal officer from ICAR for coordinating with the MANAGE to develop the work plan. It was also agreed upon that the Agrinnovate India Ltd. may be involved to take the technologies/methodologies jointly developed under the MoU for commercialization within and outside the country.   

Shri Sushil Kumar, Additional Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR); Dr. A.K. Singh, DDG (Crop & Horticulture Science); Dr. J.K. Jena, DDG (Fisheries & Animal Sciences); Dr. S.P. Kimothi, ADG (Coordination) and other senior officials of both the organizations graced the occasion.
