In recent decades the agriculture in developing economies has been subjected to various external pressures due to economic liberalization policies especially after promulgation of WTO regime. The sector which was dominated by Indian public and private stake-holders, was let loose. It has further prone to multinational monopolization due to their hefty investments for science and technological interventions. Eventually farmers are become market dependent for procurement of inputs, production and up to marketing. The recent trends of economic and technological interventions which are antagonizing the human values and holistic development once again demands to ponder about future plan of action. In the International Convention on Perspectives to Face Contemporary Challenges of Agricultural Development, attempts will be made to discuss the ways for agricultural development issues among domain experts that cover whole arena of subject. Also motivate the young researchers to focus on economic challenges to meets the future aspirations.
An International Convention on Perspective to Face Contemporary Challenges of Agricultural Development has been organized by the Bhartiya Kisan Sangh in collaboration with Bhartiya Agro-Economic Research Centre (BAERC) and Indian Council of Agricultural Research as a tribute to Shraddheya Shri Dattopant Thengadi under the auspices of Birth Centenary Celebration.
The Two-day convention on 18th & 19th February 2020 in NASC Complex, New Delhi has been planned in different six sessions spreading in two days which include dialogues. panel discussions, experts' presentations and group discussions.
The Eminent Speakers were Smt Sumitra Mahajan, Former Speaker Lok Sabha, Dr T Mohapatra, Secretary DARE & DG, ICAR, Dr Vijay Bhatkar, Chancellor, Nalanda University. Dr A K Singh, DDG, Extension was also among the elite speakers.
The overseas participation with Dr Ulrich Berk, President, German Association of Homa Terapy, Dr Bruce Johnson, Tapovan, Australia, dr Prakash Kalarickal, Vice President, ST Genetics, USA, Shri Ramesh Deshpande, IAG International, USA and Shri Apoorv Khandelwal, New Foresight Consultancy, The Netherlands and Dr S P S Beniwal, Chairman, Asian Agri-History Foundation also addressed the delegates from all over India.
Krishi Jagran held discussion and obtained valuable information from the Australian expert that how with the help of vedic agriculture, farmers of India can take advantage of it. Arun Kashyap, who is also working on international platforms said if we work with the nature, then in no case there shall be any problem to the farmers or the crops.
The delegates from different Farmers Association, Haryana Kisan Aayog, and KVKs attended the conference.
