Jharkhand Government to Export Vegetables to Middle East Countries
Jharkhand is ready to export vegetables of the state to Middle East countries. The vegetable produces will be exported to Dubai, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Oman.
The state government of Jharkhand will export vegetable produces of the state and provide the best deal to the growers. It has decided to export the vegetable produces to Middle East countries such as Dubai, Kuwait, Oman & Saudi Arabia.
As per information, two metric tonnes of vegetable are already packed and would be exported from Kolkata on 13th August.
State Agriculture Minister Badal told that it is the agriculture industry that can help the country and Jharkhand in becoming Atmanirbhr or self-reliant.
It is expected that the new initiative will increase farmers’ income by three times. The minister added that “We are working to bring back smiles on the faces of farmers in the Covid-19 era.”
In the 1st phase, as many as 500 farmers from Jamshedpur and Ranchi are on the beneficiary list. In the 2nd phase, the government will rope in women farmers from areas like Hazaribag, Gumla and Ramgarh.
Growers who are interested in exporting vegetables will have to join the farmers group in their respective villages. Jharkhand government is also discussing with the group of farmers to know their demands & what to focus on.
The ministry said the marketing board will be extending all technical support to the growers for the export initiative and quality checks will also be performed on the produce.
