“Jugaadu Kamlesh”– Newest Star of Shark Tank India Fetches Rs 30 Lakhs in Exchange of 40% Equity
Kamlesh – the Jugaadu Farmer Fetches Rs 30 Lakhs in Exchange of 40% Equity
Kamlesh – the Jugaadu Farmer entered the Shark Tank India’s stage in full Bollywood style and “WoWed” the judges with his high-spirited nature and innovativeness. Hailing from Malegoan, Maharashtra, Kamlesh is a farmer by profession and Jugaadu by choice! He loves inventing new machines that can make the lives of fellow farmers easy.
He brought one of his inventions on Shark Tank India and asked for 30 lakhs in exchange for a 10% share of his company. He observed that from carrying heavy pesticide tanks, many farmers, including his father suffered from severe backaches. As they say ‘necessity is the mother of all inventions', seeing his father in excruciating pain motivated him to make a multipurpose bicycle that performs pesticide spraying, seeding, and can also carry luggage.
He sourced all the raw material for this bike from a local scrap dealer. It took him 7 years of hard work & dedication to make this bicycle. What’s amazing is that he never took any formal education proving one can achieve anything if they have the desire to do so!
This bicycle is made at a cost of Rs 8000 and Kamlesh plans to retail it for Rs 12000.
Although all the judges were impressed with his intelligence and never giving up attitude but it was Piyush Bansal, the CEO & Founder of Lenskart that offered him ₹10 Lakhs for 40% Equity & ₹20 Lakh debt 0% Interest. Kamlesh was more than happy to accept this offer and said that this will help him develop his brand “K G Agrotech”
