On Sunday, the National Farmers Unions adopted a resolution stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will take the lead in uniting the country's farmers from the village level to fight against the Centre's "anti-farmer policies" and protect the agriculture sector.

According to an official release from the CM's office, Rao urged national farmers' leaders to uphold the dignity of the ryots and collaborate to protect their self-respect. He claimed that the plight of peasants and the agricultural crisis could be solved by launching a joint struggle coordinated by the farmers' movement and the Parliamentary route.

Rao stated unequivocally that the path taken during the Telangana movement should be followed in resolving the farmers' problems in order to achieve the goals. "On Sunday, the National Farmers Unions resolved to fight against the union government's anti-farmer policies and to protect the agriculture sector."

"The meeting adopted a resolution urging CM KCR to take the lead in uniting the country's farmers from the village level," according to the release. Rao urged farmers' leaders to get involved in politics and help farmers solve their problems.

The National Farmers Association leaders met for the second time today at Pragati Bhavan, the CM's official residence, under the chairmanship of Rao.

The meeting discussed the farmers' issue following Saturday's resolution to form a national farmers' united front.

The meeting decided to hold another meeting soon to finalise the policy rules, according to the release. At the meeting, senior leaders asked Rao to create an action plan for the movement, a blueprint to unite the entire farming community, and a strategy for moving forward.
