Karnataka State Government has announced a covid-19 relief package to farmers and weaker sections of the society. The coronavirus relief package for different economic sections is welcomed by the beneficiaries, whose incomes were hit amid the lockdown.

Who will get benefits of Karnataka Covid-19 Relief Package?

The Karnataka special package has been announced for agriculturists, flower growers, weavers, barbers, cab, auto drivers and other deprived sections of the state.

Cab and auto drivers who were out of work since March due to coronavirus will get a one-time relief of Rs 5000. For construction labourers, earlier Rs 2,000 and now Rs 3000 have been announced by the state government but not everyone is receiving the sum.

On one hand, this move of government has won hearts of the weaker sections, auto & cab drivers. They said, the government's announcement of Rs 5000 is very helpful. As the lockdown is a problem, the Rs 5000 of government as a relief package would benefit us. The sooner they give it, the better it is.

While on the other hand, the opposition Congress finds the financial help in adequate. Former chief minister Siddaramaiah tweeted, "Flower growers who would have spent Rs 50 lakh per acre. But the Karnataka Chief Minister has announced a relief package of only Rs 25,000 per hectare. The government should compensate at least half of their losses."
