Kisan Andolan Day 14: Farmer Leaders Talk with Amit Shah Fail; No Meeting Today

The farmer's agitation (Kisan Andolan) has entered into day 14 after Union Home Minister Amit Shah's meeting on Tuesday evening with protesting farmers leaders is failed to come up with a proper conclusion. Moreover, the involvement of the government's highest level to resolve the deadlock over the contentious farm laws and kisan andolan has failed as both sides remaining firm on their positions.

As per reports, agitating farmers refused to accept government's offer of amendment in the laws and stick to complete scrapping of legislation.

Moreover, the big meeting scheduled for today with Agriculture Minister Naresh Tomar has been called off as the protests started again.

Sources said farmers' unions were given a presentation on the bills on Tuesday and a proposal will be sent to farm leaders today with written amendments that the government intends to carry out.

"No meeting will be held between farmers and the government tomorrow (Wednesday). The minister has said that a proposal will be given to the farmer leaders. Farmer leaders will hold a meeting over the government’s proposal,” All India Kisan Sabha general secretary Hannan Mollah said. “The government is not ready to take back the farm laws. We will hold a meeting at Singhu border at 12 pm tomorrow,” Mollah added.
