Kisan Credit Card: Govt Issues 2.5 Core New KCC for 25 Lakh Farmers; Know How to Make it for Free?

Following Modi’s call for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission, the government has taken some special initiatives to boost India’s agri sector and farmer’s welfare. Following Modi’s call for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission, the government has taken some special initiatives to boost India’s agri sector and farmer’s welfare. Earlier this week, Modi has announced  a special economic and comprehensive package of Rs 20 lakh crore - equivalent to 10% of India’s GDP on 12th May 2020. In this series, Finance Minister announced that the government has issued Kisan Credit Card (KCC) to 25 lakh farmers in the last 2 months and in the coming days, 2.5 crore new Kisan Credit Card will be issued for the farmers. A decision has been taken to release up to Rs 2 lakh crore by them, says reports.

2.5 Crore New Kisan Credit Card Issued

Nirmala Sitharaman has made it clear that 2.5 crore farmers will get loans up to Rs 2 lakh crore on KCC. During the last 3 months, around 3 crore farmers were given loans of about 4.2 lakh crores at cheaper rates.

Kisan Credit Card (KCC) is a welfare scheme dedicated to farmers of the Central Government. It was started in 1998. Through KCC, loans are provided to the farmers at a cheaper rate for farming-related activities. Kisan Credit Cards are being provided by the Center to all those farmers who are beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Through this, loans of up to Rs 1.60 lakh are given to farmers without any guarantee. At the same time, short-term loans of up to Rs 3 lakh are given in 5 years.

How to Make Kisan Credit Card for Free?

Now the question is that if you are a farmer and you have not yet made a Kisan Credit Card, how can you get it made? This card will be made for free if you have these documents. If you have an Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID card, driving license, then you can easily make new Kisan Credit Card. Although different banks demand different documents, but these are basic documents which are acceptable in every bank.

Moreover, the government has abolished the inspection, processing fee and laser folia charge for making a Kisan Credit Card. Hence, through these documents, you can easily make your card for free. Farmers can get this card by going to the nearest bank and filling this one-page form. Along with this, the farmer will have to give his land documents, crop details. Apart from this, it has to be declared that they did not get any other Kisan Credit Card made from any other bank or branch.

All the customers who have opened accounts in PM Kisan Samman Nidhi can only take advantage of this government scheme. For this, you must first go to the official site https://pmkisan.gov.in/

You need to fill-up the form with every detail

You will get a one-page form here where you need to fill-up every detail.  You have to fill this form with the documents of your land, details of the crop. Apart from this, it has to be declared that they have not got any other farmer credit card made from any other bank or branch. Apart from this, you can also download this form from http://www.argicoop.gov.in./

You can repay the Loan up to 31st May

Apart from this, under the Kisan Credit Card Scheme, you can repay the loan till 31 May. Earlier, the last date to repay this loan was 31 March, which has now been increased to 31 May. Not only this, there will not be any penalty or extra interest.
