Know about India’s most expensive Vegetable that costs Rs 30,000 per kg

For a common man, even 100-200 Rs/kg vegetable seems expensive. Just think, what if a vegetable costs not in tens, not in hundreds, but in thousands? Yes, there is a vegetable that grows in India and costs in thousands, which a common man can’t even think to buy.

That vegetable is Gucchi, also known as Morel mushroom. Gucchi is a fungi family wild mushroom, it is usually found on the Himalayas. And its price in the market is about 25 to 30 thousand rupees. Gucchi is a rare mushroom, found in India and is in demand in foreign countries.

Medicinal Properties of Gucchi

Medicinal properties of Gucchi are beneficial for heart diseases and diabetes. And along with curing heart diseases, Gucchi is good for many other diseases and gives important nutrients to the body. Gucchi is a kind of natural multi-vitamin tablet. Gucchi is rich in antioxidants and also promotes immune functions. It reduces the chances of developing cancer and also prevents the growth of tumor and also maintains body’s detoxification mechanisms.

This mushroom is available from the month of February to April and at that time only, expensive hotels and companies purchase it.

It is not an easy task to collect the Gucchi from mountains, as collectors need to go on mountains by risking their life and collect it. And this wild mushroom is dried in rainy seasons and after then it is sold.

Gucchi is mostly eaten in America, France, Europe, Switzerland and Italy.

Gucchi is also found in Pakistan at Hindukush Mountains. People there also dry and sell Gucchi in foreign countries.

Many stories are also rumoured for this wild mushrooms, like at the time of storms and thunders, Gucchi grows on mountains.
