Krishi Input Subsidy Scheme: Get Huge Subsidy on Seasonal Damaged Crops; Apply before 18th April

Unseasonal rains and hailstorms during the month of March have caused heavy losses to many farmers' crops in different states. Keeping this in mind, the Government has come out with a new initiative to give a little bit of relief to the farmer’s plight. Recently, it has initiated the ‘Krishi Input Subsidy Scheme’ for the farmers of Bihar. Under this scheme, the farmers can avail a subsidy of Rs. 6800 per hectare for their damaged crops. To avail this grant, farmers can easily apply through online mode from the agriculture department website.

What is Krishi Input Subsidy Scheme? 

The Department of Agriculture has launched the Krishi Input Subsidy Scheme for the welfare of farmer in the State of Bihar. Krishi Input Subsidy Scheme provides subsidy against the crops affected due to drought or flood during the month of July or September 2019.  Under this scheme, the Bihar Government provides a subsidy to the farmers for the growth and development of agriculture. Krishi Input Subsidy Scheme would include a subsidy for purchase of agricultural equipment, seeds, irrigation facility, transportation, etc. 

Amount of Subsidy 

The subsidy amount will be provided to the farmers affected by the damage of crop during Kharif season or due to low rainfall fallow land will be made at the rate of Rs.6800 per hectare. 

  • For unirrigated crops, Rs.6800 per hectare will be paid.

  • For irrigated crops, Rs.13500 per hectare will be paid.

  • For perennial crops, Rs.18000 per hectare will be paid.

 Eligibility Criteria for Krishi Input Subsidy Scheme

The below following criteria have to be satisfied by the applicant: 

  • All categories of farmers who have their own land in the State of Bihar can apply for the scheme.

  • The farmer applicant should not have availed similar benefit previously.

Apply till This Date 

The process of online application under the Krishi Input Subsidy Scheme has started from 28th March. The last date for this application is 18 April. For more information, the farmer can contact the call centre. Its toll-free number is 18001801551.

These Farmers will Get Benefits 

In March, the crops of farmers have been destroyed due to unexpected rain and hail storm. For this, farmers are being given the benefit of the Krishi Input Subsidy Scheme. To avail this scheme, the farmer can apply from his mobile or laptop. Apart from this, farmers can also apply directly by visiting nearby E-Farmer Bhawan where he will be able to apply with zero fees. Farmers can also apply from the Common Service Center and Vasudha Center where they need to pay just Rs. 10. 

To take advantage of this scheme, farmers have to be registered their name in the Agriculture Department. It should be noted that if the farmer is not registered with the Agriculture Department, he can apply here only after the registration. 

The Amount will be sent directly to the Farmer’s Account 

The amount of Krishi Input Subsidy Scheme will be sent to the bank account of the farmers. Moreover, it should be noted that the bank account of the farmers must be linked with his Aadhaar.
