Today, on 18th December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the farmers of Madhya Pradesh virtually around 2 pm. Video will be telecasted to around 23,000 villages. PM Modi will discuss about the new farm laws.
PM Narendra Modi will address farmers of Madhya Pradesh today, after they started a foot march from Morena, the home district of Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, in support of the Farmers’ Protest in the capital, Delhi with the demand of abrogate the three Central Farm Laws. The protest has been going on for the past three weeks against the new farm laws, and calling for the intervention of the Supreme Court.
PM's Virtual Address
Today, on 18th December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the farmers of Madhya Pradesh virtually around 2 pm. Video will be telecasted to around 23,000 villages.
PM Modi will discuss about the new farm laws. And farmers will be made aware of the farmer-friendly provisions of the new farm laws in the event.
Kharif Crop Damage Relief Fund
And, in the event, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also distribute the relief amount of Rs. 1,660 Crore for Kharif crop damage to 3.5 Million farmers. CM mentioned that, previous Congress government did not even deposit the premium of Fasal Bima Yojana. But, BJP is determined to work for the welfare of farmers. He said, “We have already deposited the premium of Fasal Bima Yojana and now going to transfer Kharif crop damage relief funds,”
Kisan Kalyan Programme
One more notable thing is that, MP is organizing a four-day Kisan Kalyan Programme to make farmers aware about the benefits of new farm laws, and also about the other benefits provided by the state government. This event will be organized at district, block, and panchayat levels, with ensuring all the necessary COVID-19 protocols and safety measures.
