Latest News: Three Senior Officers Suspended for Registering Fake Beneficiaries under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Manipur

CM of Manipur has informed media that 3 Sub-deputy collectors (SDCs) have been suspended for their alleged involvement in registration of fake beneficiaries under Centre's Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi yojana (PM-Kisan) in Bishnupur district.

Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh on Monday (31st August 2020) said that 3 Sub-deputy collectors (SDCs) have been suspended from duty for their alleged involvement in enrolling fake beneficiaries under Central government’s ambitious scheme - Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi yojana (PM-Kisan) in Bishnupur district.

Chief minister in a tweet said, "Suspended 3 SDCs for registering fake beneficiaries under the PM Kisan Nidhi yojana in Bishnupur District. The Government will not tolerate this kind of devious act".  

As per an official order, the disciplinary proceedings against the three SDCs - Robert Okram, LA/SDC, Bishnupur, Rahina Sahni, LA/SDC, Lilong and Salam Bimoljit Singh, LA/SDC (Headquarter) DC's office are being conducted for alleged involvement in enrolling fake beneficiaries under the PM Kisan scheme in Manipur’s Bishnupur district.

It is important to mention that currently the Centre is in the process of distributing the 6th installment of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to the farmers. Under this scheme, the government gives Rs. 6000 to small and marginal farmers of the country in three installments. The 5th installment that was disbursed in April had helped farmers deal with nation-wide lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic.
