Mahindra Farm Division Dispatch 10 Skilled Workmen to Japan Under Japan’s Technical Intern Training Program
Mahindra Farm Division which is a part of Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector has dispatched the 10 skilled workmen to Japan under Japan’s Technical Intern Training Program (TITP).
Mahindra's Farm Division, a part of Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector, has reached a significant milestone in its dedication to skill development and global expansion. They have sent their first group of ten skilled workers to Japan as part of Japan's Technical Intern Training Program (TITP).
The departure ceremony, led by Mr Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment Sector (FES) at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., and other company officials, took place at Mahindra's facility in Kandivali, Mumbai. This event coincided with the auspicious occasions of Anant Chaturdashi and Eid-e-Milad. These ten workers will be heading to Nagoya, Japan, where they will undergo mandatory training for 4-6 weeks, with the support of the Japanese government.
Mahindra is sending workers from its tractor manufacturing facilities to Mitsubishi Mahindra Agricultural Machinery in Japan for a year-long on-the-job training program. The selected employees from Zaheerabad, Nagpur, and Rudrapur underwent workshops to understand Japanese culture. Mr Hemant Sikka, from Mahindra Farm Equipment Sector, expressed gratitude for the commitment to 'Transforming Farming and Enriching Lives,' emphasizing their inclusive workplace and praised Japan's TITP program as vital. He thanked the governments of India and Japan, along with program partners, for their support in realizing this vision.
Mr Sikka's objective in selecting ten individuals is to enhance their technical skills through on-the-job training in Japan, with plans for them to implement best practices in Mahindra's facilities upon their return. Japan's TITP program, established in 1993, promotes skills transfer and international collaboration by providing training to individuals from developing countries, contributing to human resource development and economic growth in participating regions. A Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) between India's Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and various Japanese ministries initiated a skill development collaboration in 2017, where Indian candidates undergo internship in Japan for three to five years, managed by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) since January 2018.
