Monsoon 2020: Indian Farmers Happy with Timely Arrival of Monsoon

The farmers are happy after the monsoon arrives on time after a decade. On Wednesday, where people got relief from the scorching heat due to the freezing rain, farmers' moustaches have also blossomed. Since Monday evening, rains started in most parts of Uttar Pradesh which continued till Wednesday. After the rain, the farmers are engaged in farming. The low-lying fields are flooded. Farmers engaged in agricultural work say that there has been a tremendous auspicious arrival of monsoon and it is expected that if the monsoon continues with this, then this year there will be better yields. 

Farmers, who have already prepared the intermediaries, have also started planting paddy in their fields. Manure and seed shops are crowded by farmers in the market. Farmers say that the seedlings should be prepared in the fields as soon as possible so that paddy can be planted in time. Farmers are also working on other crops. The faces of farmers are in bloom due to the monsoon knocking in a tremendous way. Although more rain will cause damage to green vegetables, it will be beneficial for paddy cultivation. 

“With the formation of a low-pressure system over West Bengal on June 19 and 20 and its movement towards south-west Uttar Pradesh, conditions are becoming favourable for further advancement of monsoon over west UP and rest of Northwest India. Monsoon is likely to cover most parts of Northwest India between June 21 and June 25. It is likely to cover Western UP and Uttarakhand between June 21 and 22, Northeast Rajasthan, eastern parts of Haryana and Delhi between June 22 and June 23,” says Kuldeep Srivastava, the head of the regional forecasting centre, India Meteorological Department (IMD). 

The early arrival of monsoon is considered a good sign for Kharif cultivation and is the lifeline of Indian Agriculture. Because of the monsoon, the farmers feel that if the yield is good, then the price will improve their financial condition.
