The Madhya Pradesh government has decided not to levy a tax on the export of wheat produced in the state, and traders will be allowed to purchase wheat anywhere in the state under a single licence, according to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Chouhan, who was in Delhi on Thursday to meet with Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal about wheat exports, stated: "Madhya Pradesh's wheat exports will be exempt from the mandi tax.

The government will make every effort to assist exporters."

He also stated that exporters were permitted to purchase wheat from mandis as well as directly from farmers. He also stated that the Railway Board has made provisions for wheat export racks.

"If exporters require space to set up export houses in major mandis, they will be provided with space at reduced rates," he added.

Madhya Pradesh's wheat production has reached 1.29 crore MT, according to the chief minister.

He stated that Madhya Pradesh wheat has credibility. In the market, an online auction process is available, and exporters will be able to buy wheat by registering with a local person.

Infrastructure and lab facilities for wheat value addition and quality certification will be made available to exporters in major mandis of the state.

"We attempted to provide all of the services requested by the exporters. I am confident that these decisions will boost Madhya Pradesh's exports and benefit our farmers" Chouhan continued.

On Wednesday, Chouhan convened a review meeting with his cabinet ministers and senior officials, instructing that there be no flaws in the wheat procurement arrangements. He stated that wheat export should be encouraged and procured in accordance with the new Rabi Registration 2022-23 provisions.
