New Mobile Application for PM Krishi Sinchayee Yojana launched by Government

Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana was launched on 1st July, 2015 with the motto of ‘Har Khet Ko Paani’ for providing end-to end solutions in irrigation supply chain, viz. water sources, distribution network and farm level applications. In this regard, Union Minister of State for Water Power and Social Justice and Empowerment, Ratan Lal Kataria has launched a mobile application.

Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana was launched on 1st July, 2015 with the motto of ‘Har Khet Ko Paani’ for providing end-to end solutions in irrigation supply chain, viz. water sources, distribution network and farm level applications. In this regard, Union Minister of State for Water Power and Social Justice and Empowerment, Ratan Lal Kataria has launched a mobile application.

Through this mobile application, information about the works being done under the PM Krishi Sinchayee Scheme will be obtained.

Mobile application for Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana:

The mobile app has been created with the help of Bhaskaracharya National Institute of Space Applications and Geo-Informatics (BISAG-N). It will do geo tagging of projects. Through this, the monitoring of projects, their progress and obstacles in their development will be explored.

Modi government wants to double the income of farmers by the year 2022, hence the agricultural irrigation project was started. This includes 99 projects, which helps to irrigate about 34.64 lakh hectares of additional agricultural land in the country. Out of these projects, work of 44 irrigation projects has been completed so far. With this, around 21.33 lakh hectares of cultivable land is being irrigated. It is to be noted that, all these projects can easily be monitored with the help of mobile application.

Digital India campaign:

The development of this mobile application has been developed under the Digital India campaign. This will review the progress of works in projects. Along with this, online management will be helpful for Information System (MIS). Remote sensing techniques can also be used in this mobile application, which will allow estimation of the cropped area of ​​the command area of ​​the projects.

  • Monitoring can be done by team / project authorities to capture the image of the project component.

  • The information collected will be displayed on the GIS portal to benefit the farmers.

  • According to the network available in the area, this mobile application can be operated both online and offline.
