PM-KISAN Anniversary Celebrated at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Navsari

The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Pune, Maharashtra organized a programme to celebrate the completion of one year of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Navsari, Gujarat.

The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Pune, Maharashtra organized a programme to celebrate the completion of one year of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Navsari, Gujarat.

The Chief Guest, Smt. Amitaben Patel, President, Zila Panchayat, Navsari appreciated the commendable initiative of the government for providing the income support to all the land holding eligible farmer families through PM-KISAN. She stated that the scheme augmented the financial needs of the farmers and enabled them to buy the appropriate inputs at critical crop stages along with addressing the urgent household needs.

Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare addressed the gathering through video conferencing. The Minister highlighted about the Scheme’s benefits that enabled the small and marginal farmers to be empowered for timely purchasing the farm inputs (Ex. seeds and fertilizers) and also carry out the various inter-cultivation operations. Shri Rupala urged the farmers to avail the benefits of the scheme.

Dr. S.R. Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor mentioned about the Government of Gujarat’s keen interest in the agricultural education, research and extension towards the betterment of the farming communities in the State. He congratulated all the beneficiary farmers and urged them to be a partner for implementing the various state and centrally sponsored schemes for achieving the food security.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. C.K. Timbadia, Head, KVK, Navsari welcomed all the dignitaries.

The PM-Kisan beneficiaries namely - Shri Kirtibhai Jadhav, Butsad, Jalalpore; Shri Vipin K. Naik Khakwada, Gandevi; Shri Hemanthbhai B. Patel, Sadlav, Navsari and Shri Jayantibhai M. Bhoya, Vansdsa also expressed their gratitude towards the scheme.

The various products prepared by the rural women of the state were also showcased during the occasion.

The senior officials of State Government Departments and ICAR Institutes were also present during the occasion.

Around 5,000 PM-Kisan beneficiary farmers were present during the function.
