PM Kisan Update: Rs 299 Crore Transferred To Over 2 Lakh Farmers in This State

The Central Government has transferred Rs 299.26 core to more than 2 lakh beneficiary farmers in Nagaland since the launch of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN Scheme) in February 2019, the parliament was informed on Tuesday.

The Central Government has transferred Rs 299.26 core to more than 2 lakh beneficiary farmers in Nagaland since the launch of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN Scheme) in February 2019, the parliament was informed on Tuesday.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to the eligible farmer families’ payable in 3 equal installments of Rs 2,000.

Agriculture Minister Writes to Lok Sabha

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar in his written reply to Lok Sabha said that “A total of 2,06,523 beneficiaries have been given financial benefits of more than Rs 299.26 crore through different installments under the PM-KISAN Scheme in the state of Nagaland”.

During the first year of the launch of the scheme, the center transferred Rs 5.55crore, while Rs 91.82 crore & Rs 122.19 crore was transferred during the year 2019-2020 & 2020-2021 fiscal years, respectively.

During the ongoing 2021-2022 fiscal year, the central government transferred Rs 79.70 crore to the beneficiary farmers till 30th November. This is according to the data presented by Narendra Singh Tomar.

Government to Implement Various Schemes to Enhance Cold Chain Shortage Facility

While responding to another query on the cold chain facilities in the north-eastern region, the Agriculture Minister said that the government is implementing different schemes to enhance the cold chain shortage facilities in the country including the northeastern region.

As of 30th September, there were 71 cold shortage facilities with an installed capacity of 2,75,401 with the maximum capacity being set up in Assam followed by the Tripura & Meghalaya, as shown in the data.
