PM Krishi Sinchayi Yojana: Get 55% Subsidy on Drip & Sprinkler Systems

Mini and micro-irrigation methods have been rising not just because they have increased production but also because they save water. Keeping this in mind, the government has started the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayi Yojana.
Under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayi Yojana, farmers are being encouraged to adopt mini and micro-irrigation methods. For this, they are being provided subsidies so that it can reach everyone. Madhya Pradesh Government is giving the farmers of the state subsidy on micro-irrigation equipment. Application for the same is being invited from the farmers.
Which Farmers Can Benefit from the Scheme?
The government is providing drip systems, mini/micro-sprinkler sets, and portable sprinkler sets to farmers at 55% subsidy. Farmers from these districts can apply to avail this benefit: Ashoknagar, Umariya, Ujjain, Neemuch, Singrauli, Shivpuri, Satna, Seoni, Shahdol, Ratlam, Rajgarh, Panna, Mandsaur, Khargone, Jhabua, Indore, Devas, Datia, Damoh, Chhindwara, Balaghat, and Agar-Malwa.
How Much Subsidy Will Be Provided?
The subsidy allocated for sprinklers and drip systems is as follows:
Sprinkler: Small and marginal farmers shall be given a subsidy of 55% whereas farmers belonging to other categories shall be given a subsidy of 45%
Drip System: Same as the subsidy provided on sprinklers. Farmers from small and marginal communities shall be given 55% subsidy while farmers from other categories shall be given 45% subsidy.
The Original Price of Sprinkler & Drip System
Without subsidy, a drip system can cost anywhere between one lakh to one lakh twenty thousand rupees per hectare. On the other hand, sprinkler sets for one hectare can cost 70 thousand to one lakh forty thousand rupees.
Documents Required for Subsidy
The documents farmers would need to apply for this scheme are as follows: Aadhar Card, Photocopy of the first page of bank passbook, caste certificate, proof of electricity connection like electricity bill, mobile number for OTP.
How to Apply?
Farmers can apply at the Horticulture Department website from September 6, 2021.The timings are from 11 a.m. onwards.
