Two young people were arrested for the smuggling up of the forged pesticides.  The whole fraud was busted because of the collective action taken by the DSP and Plant protection officer along with some police officials.

The two youths were recognized as the locals of Ludhiana named Ekdeep Singh and Vikas Sharma; these two were caught in an I-20 car filled with forged or fake pesticides.  After interrogation it was said that these pesticides were to be sold to the Moga local farmers.

Among the forged pesticides which were confiscated had all kinds of forged pesticides like “Coragen” which is apparently used as a larvicide. ‘Cogent’ and ‘Rounder’ were also seized along with ‘Commando’ and ‘gusto-71’.  All of these were forged and were very harmful when given to farmers for use.

One of them was merchandised by a Mohali’s MNC Company for pesticides production under the brand name of ‘Chess’. Further investigation has begun as said by the District Agriculture officer.

An FIR has been launched against these two individuals under the Section 29 of the Insecticides Act, 1968 and Section 420 of IPC at the police station.  The convicts were sent to the police arrest for tenure of 5 days as they failed to provide valid documents regarding the forged pesticides in front of the local court. They had confessed that the forged pesticides have been purchased from a Delhi based market called Indira Market.

Another special investigation orders have been given out to the investigating officers to look up the matter of where and how are these fake products been produced and sold and also how does it reach the district by Sandeep Hans, District Court Magistrate.
