Sadhguru, the founder of Isha Foundation, will speak to political leaders from 195 countries at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) on the 9th & 10th of May in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to raise awareness about the importance of soil conservation. He will speak at the event in order to persuade heads of state to implement policy reforms in their respective countries in order to save soil.

The spiritual leader is the keynote speaker for the 15th session of the Conference of Parties (COP15) at UNCCD. He is currently on a 100-day solo motorcycle journey through Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East as part of the 'Save Soil' initiative. "Land. Life. Legacy: From Scarcity to Prosperity" is the session's theme.

For healthy food production, soil health is essential. It provides essential nutrients, water, oxygen, and root support, all of which aid plant growth and development for food production.

As part of the Movement to Save Soil, Sadhguru is currently on a 100-day, 30,000-kilometer solo motorcycle journey through Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East.

He is meeting with world leaders, scientists, environmental organizations, soil experts, and other stakeholders to press for immediate policy changes to prevent soil extinction.

The Save Soil Movement, which the Isha Foundation's leader began in London on March 21, has sparked worldwide interest and support.

World leaders, leading environmental organizations and scientists, soil experts, and several UN bodies all support the Movement. Over 70 political parties and leaders have already pledged to save soil in their respective countries.

The initiative's main goal, according to the Isha Foundation, is to "urge nations to ensure that agricultural lands contain a minimum of 3 to 6% organic content to keep them alive and productive." This will ensure global food and water security, reduce the impact of climate change, and protect biodiversity by preventing species extinction."
