All about secondary Agriculture

Secondary agriculture is defined as "all practices and processes that add value to primary agricultural commodities via the use of efficient technology, market intelligence, and customer demand." It should be emphasized that value addition in agriculture refers to the act of boosting an agricultural economic worth of commodity and consumer appeal. It is essentially a different manufacturing and marketing approach.

Because of its enormous untapped potential, the secondary sector is viewed as a sunrise sector for the Indian economy. The primary driver of secondary agricultural development has been consumer demand for value-added items in both local and foreign markets.
