When a farmer named Marimuthu suggested that saplings be planted along roadsides, government offices, and ponds, Collector S Visakan announced that those who plant the most saplings in their area would be given a certificate of merit at a farmer's grievances redressal meeting held at the District Collectorate here on Friday would be given a certificate of merit.

He went on to say that palm trees are really valuable and useful to everyone. Waterbody encroachment, Panchami land, and other topics were discussed at the meeting.

A farmer urged that permanent physicians be hired to the Gujiliamparai veterinary hospital, putting a stop to people's misery. He also complained about polluted water in the Kodaganar dam and requested that the dam's retaining wall be removed.

As per the report of the special committee created to look into the problem, action will be done without causing any harm to anyone, according to a Public Works Department officer. A farmer requested that the tarpaulins approved as compensation for farmers in the Kombai region be handed to the affected farmers as soon as possible before they are ruined.

When Nallusamy, a farmer, complained that individuals without cows pose as if they were doing and requested financial aid, Collector recommended filing a complaint with all the necessary facts and promised that the offender will be prosecuted. Perumal ordered that a solar fence be installed to keep elephants out of the agricultural areas and away from the crops.

The elephants are smart, according to the Collector, and solar barriers do not prevent them from invading fields. He went on to say that farmers must be particularly vigilant, and he asked for everyone's help in resolving the problem.

He also promised that the shortcomings at the copra procurement centers would be solved when a farmer complained. Palanivel pointed out that the Natham center had not purchased copra output from farmers since January, despite the State's instruction. According to a press release from the district government, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) allows many farmers to build farm ponds and ridges.

V Latha, the District Revenue Officer, was there, as were officials from the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, and other departments.
