Big partners like the US, Australia, and UK saw exports grow into double digits in 2019-20, said the data.

Coronavirus forced the country to go under lockdown for two-long-months, during this time many migrants working in the tea sector left back to their villages. Though, farm products come under essential products in the lockdown. Even after unlock of the country started on June 8, reviving the operations has become hard for Tea farmers to continue their operations. Production of tea in March, during the present fiscal year, fell to 43.45 million kg when compared to last year’s March production which stood at 74.59 million kg.
