The Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar, attended today's 10th Convocation of the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izzatnagar (Bareilly), as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Tomar stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration in India is working tirelessly to transform and advance the nation.

On the occasion of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, according to Tomar, everyone needs to start working on new resolutions while also finishing up any unfinished business from the previous year. India should become the best country in the world by the time it has been independent for 100 years (Amrit Kaal). Institutions and students alike should collaborate on this and support the country.

At the convocation, Tomar congratulated those who had earned degrees and noted that schools are crucial to young people's development and that receiving a top-notch education makes students proud. Tomar said that because of the unbreakable bond between nature and animals, it is our responsibility to look after livestock, birds, and other animals, as well as other people.

Since animals are of utmost importance, we refer to them as livestock. India has 535.78 million livestock and 851.18 million poultry, which is nearly the same as the United States. Not only in terms of quantity, but also in terms of genetic diversity, the livestock wealth of the nation is quite rich.

Tomar asserted that the allied industries of animal husbandry, beekeeping, and fisheries are necessary for the agriculture sector to be complete. Along with agriculture, one must responsibly work in related industries, such as animal husbandry, for the development of the nation.

The urgent need is to maintain the health of animals and improve their breed. When the illness affects dairy animals, people are also impacted. The AatmaNirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) campaign includes a special package worth Rs. 15,000 crores in the form of the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Fund, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created in recognition of the importance of the animal husbandry sector. To protect animals from lumpy skin disease, an indigenous vaccine called Lumpi-Pro Vac-Ind / Lumpi-ProVacInd was recently introduced, according to Tomar.

Kailash Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, former Union Minister and Bareilly MP, Dr. Bhupendra Nath Tripathi, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), Dr. Triveni Dutt, and other dignitaries were present when Shri Tomar presented the degrees and awards.

Three technologies created by the IVRI were unveiled during the ceremony. Three doctors, Drs. Mahendra Pal Yadav, Dr. Kamal Mall Bujarbarua, and Dr. Anil Kumar Srivastava, have received the Indian Veterinary Research Institute's Vigyan-Varidhi (Honorary) degree (Deemed to be University). At the IVRI complex, Tomar also opened the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium.
